Term 4 Week 2 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Caregivers
The new term has started off extremely well, with the children quickly slotting back into routines.

Thank you to Karen and Kerry who have kindly given their time this week to assist at writing time. Your help is greatly appreciated and really does make a difference. Another big thank you to Wendy who lent us her numerous x-rays! A great inspiration for our letter of the week and associated craft activity.

My apologies for the misinformation regarding the Beach Ed Trip. I was not aware until after sending out last week’s newsletter that it is a Year One trip only. Room 3 and 10 children will attend next year when they are in Year One. However, please do return the permission form for the Christmas Grotto/Transitional Cathedral trip as soon as possible.

The children are really enjoying our twice weekly athletics sessions. Generally these will be on Tuesdays and Fridays. It would be great if the children could wear suitable running shoes on these days please.

A big thank you from Mrs Robertson and Room 7 for your mufti day contributions for the Mystery Bottle Stall at the School Fair. There was a great variety of interesting bottles from Room 3!

Room 3 have been given the Fizzy Drinks Stall to manage at the Monster Fair. The children and I will make the signage leading up to the event and I will be asking you for assistance by volunteering to take a shift in the setting up, running and packing down of the stall on the day.

Before they hit the recycling bin, we would love any contributions of small boxes and containers for our ‘Making Box’. You may have noticed we have a great number of avid craft makers in Room 3!

Today we planted our own herb garden as part of our term focus on Education Outside of the Classroom. This will be an ongoing project throughout the term and we welcome your input and assistance with this fun activity. So far we have planted basil, parsley, oreganum, thyme, sage, mint and snow peas. We hope to put our herbs/veges to good use leading up to Christmas.

Have you visited our class blog recently? It is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the classroom.

Have a fabulous long weekend.

Kind regards
Cara Wallace
